The SAP BTP Devcontainer for VS Code enables you to develop and run software for the SAP Business Technology Platform (formerly SAP Cloud Platform) on your Micosoft Visual Studio Code development environment without the need to install development languages or tools locally.

It runs Node.js or TypeScript code in a Development container for Visual Studio Code. Optionally also Java and Maven can be enabled.

The Devcontainer automatically logs you in to SAP Cloud Foundry with your username, password, API URL, ORG and SPACE whenever you launch the container – no manual entry of your data is required anymore.

It fully supports the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) by providing tools like SAP CDS CLI, sqlite3, SAP Cloud MTA Build Tool and VS Code SAP extensions out of the box.

Multiple code generators assist you in developing SAP-UI5 and Fiori apps.
